Question:

Has anything been done about the missing ICD-10 diagnosis codes in some local coverage determinations (LCDs)?

Answer:

After implementation, some Medicare administrative contractors (MACs) identified LCDs that “needed further refinements for ICD-10 diagnosis codes,” according to an announcement from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Claims affected by these edits were temporarily suspended and automatically reprocessed. No action is required by providers. Questions about specific LCDs should be directed to your MAC.
