How should code 36415 be reported for outpatient venipuncture services?
Medicare will reimburse for one venipuncture on outpatients per encounter—do not link the 36415 code for venipuncture per test. Also, 36415 applies to venipuncture only. It is not a valid code for finger sticks or line draws.
