Question:
I’ve heard CLFS data reporting is delayed. Do you know by how long?
Answer:
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has officially announced that the data reporting is now delayed by one year for Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Tests (CDLTs) that are not designated as Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory Tests (ADLTs). This means that CDLT data which originally was required to be reported from January 1, 2020, and March 31, 2020, will now be reported between January 1, 2021, and March 31, 2021. However, you should know, that applicable laboratories are required to report data from the original collection period established as of January 1, 2019, through June 30, 2019. Note that data reporting for these tests will then continue on the planned three-year cycle starting in 2024. (Section 105(a)(1) of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020 (FCAA)).
