Question:

What do U0003 and U0004 identify?

Answer:

HCPCS U0003 identifies clinical diagnostic laboratory tests (CDLTs) that would otherwise be reported with code 87635 except for being performed on high throughput technology platforms with the potential for automated processing of more than 200 specimens a day and requiring more intensive technician training and quality assurance. Similarly, HCPCS U0004 identifies CDLTs that would otherwise be reported with HCPCS U0002 except for being performed utilizing these high throughput technologies.
