Respiratory Question for the Week of April 19, 2021

Question:

Is MVV required for 94010?

Answer:

MVV is optional. If you perform the maximal voluntary ventilation you cannot bill code 94200 in addition to 94010. If you do not perform the MVV, payment is not reduced nor does it preclude the use of the 94010 code rate.
