Respiratory Question for the Week of March 21, 2022

Question:

What code would I report for a pediatric pneumogram?

Answer:

You would use 94772. The service in this code is frequently used to monitor newborns in the nursery or may be requested as a home service for high-risk infants with a diagnosis of apnea. The pediatric pneumogram provides a 24-hour record of ventilatory pattern, monitoring the depth and frequency of the respiration. Separate procedure codes for electromyograms, EEG, ECG, and recordings are excluded when 94772 is reported.

94772 Circadian respiratory pattern recording (pediatric pneumogram), 12-24 hour continuous recording, infant
