Question:

How should DES stents with lithotripsy be reported for facility coding since the C-codes are not listed as a primary intervention?

Answer:

Facility coding (OPPS) would report DES as normal (the lithotripsy would be considered part of the angioplasty). Report the DES procedure code along with C1761 (Catheter, transluminal intravascular lithtripsy, coronary) for the lithotripsy catheter for pass-through payment.
