Question:

What is the new Medicare legislation called IMPACT about?

Answer:

On September 18, 2014, Congress passed the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation Act of 2014 (the IMPACT Act).  The Act requires, among other significant activities, the reporting of standardized patient-assessment data with regard to quality measures, and patient assessment instrument categories. It applies to by long-term care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and inpatient rehabilitation facilities.
