Question:
We are conducting a multiple sleep latency study. However, we are only recording two nap opportunity sessions. Would we need a modifier in this scenario?
Answer:
In cases of reduced service where fewer than four nap opportunities are recorded, the service should be reported with modifier 52 (reduced services). Report code 95805. Only one unit of service should be submitted for this code and all naps done on a single day are represented with this code.
