Question:

Our interventional cardiologist deployed a drug-eluting stent in the LAD and performed PTCA of the RCA, any advice for coding?

Answer:

For a physician setting report 92928-LD, 92920-RC, and for a hospital setting report C9600-LD, 92920-RC. Two primary codes are reported because two major coronary arteries were treated. The stenting of the LAD is reported with code 92928 or C9600 (DES), and PTCA of the right coronary (RCA) is reported with code 92920.
