Question:

What should we look for in terms of documentation regarding 75630?

Answer:

There are some key documentation key phrases to be aware of. Understand that with code 75630, a pigtail catheter is advanced to the level of the renal arteries. Angiography of the entire abdominal aorta and bilateral lower extremity vasculature (at least through the femoral arteries) is performed. Determine if documentation supports the entire abdominal aorta. Look for mention in the report of renal arteries or celiac axis/trunk. Also, be sure to look for documentation supporting imaging of both lower extremities through at least femoral arteries. If no mention is made of upper/proximal abdominal aorta (i.e., are renal arteries defined?) this is not 75630 but either 75710 or 75716.
