Cardiology Question for the Week of March 30, 2020

Question:

Do you have any guidance on code 33367?

Answer:

This is an add on code. When cardiopulmonary bypass support is utilized during the aortic valve replacement, the support is coded separately with the corresponding add-on codes like 33367, 33368, or 33369 as appropriate.

33367 Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR/TAVI) with prosthetic valve; cardiopulmonary bypass support with percutaneous peripheral arterial and venous cannulation (e.g., femoral vessels) (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure)
