To bill for echocardiography performed with contrast in the hospital setting, use codes C8921–C8930. In addition to reporting codes C8921–C8930, report the following codes based on the amount of contrast milliliters (ml) used: Q9950 Injection sulfur hexafluoride lipid microspheres (Lumason®), Q9955 Injection perflexane lipid microspheres, per ml (Imagent®), Q9956 Injection octafluoropropane microspheres, per ml (Definity®), Q9957 Injection perflutren lipid microspheres, per ml (Optison™).
