General Question for the Week of April 8, 2019

Question:

Does the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) publish all medically unlikely edits (MUEs) values on its website?

Answer:

Although CMS publishes most MUE values on its website, other MUE values are confidential and are for CMS and its Medicare contractors use only. The latter group of MUE values are not released since CMS does not publish them. For more on MUEs, go to https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Coding/NationalCorrectCodInitEd/MUE.html
