Question:

What would be the billing date of service for a provider reading the interpretation for a 24-hour EEG?

Answer:

Medicare doesn’t appear to have any guidelines on this, but absent a specific policy by the payer, the provider may choose to report the beginning day or the last day. The provider should have a written policy and be consistent.
