Laboratory Question for the Week of April 23, 2018

Question:

In last week’s answer, you suggested looking at the list of tests granted waived status under CLIA to find which of the POC manufacturers and instruments or devices have been assigned CPT® 82962 or 82947. Can you tell me where this list can be found?

Answer:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) update the CLIA-waived test list each quarter, and the most recent, which took effect on April 1, can be found in transmittal 3945 (issued January 5, 2018) at https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Guidance/Transmittals/2018Downloads/R3945CP.pdf.
