Answer:

Code +88155 is referred to as the maturation index, karyopyknotic index, estrogen effect, or estrogenic index. It is used to determine the balance of estrogen and progesterone of the vaginal squamous epithelium. This hormonal evaluation is performed in addition to the initial smear. It is a tool for assessing hormone replacement therapy or identifying hormone inadequacy.
