Can you tell us more about the billing details for 85060 and whether we should include this code in our hospital chargemaster?

Answer:

Understand that 85060 has not been recommended for inclusion in the hospital chargemaster. This is a professional-only code that is billed by the pathologist for the review of abnormal peripheral smears. This procedure is billed only when the work is performed on specimens collected from hospital inpatients.
