Answer:
Codes 88000–88099 represent postmortem physician services. Among the reasons for performing these procedures include determining the cause of death, improving the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and providing information to family members in cases of heritable illnesses. Forensic studies may also gather and preserve legal evidence.
