Yes, HCPCS code 87400 description changed to “Infectious agent antigen detection by immunoassay technique, (eg, enzyme immunoassay [EIA], enzymelinked immunosorbent assay [ELISA], fluorescence immunoassay [FIA], immunochemiluminometric assay [IMCA]) qualitative or semiquantitative; Influenza, A or B, each”. HCPCS code 87400QW specifies the waived testing performed by the Quidel Sofia 2 (Sofia Influenza A+B FIA) and the BD Veritor System for Rapid Detection of Flu A+B (For use with nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs) {Includes a Reader}.
