Laboratory Question for the Week of October 28, 2019

Question:

Are there any other goals of the Lab act?

Answer:

In addition to delaying the private payer data reporting, the legislation has another agenda. The bill instructs the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), in consultation with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to create a study and provide recommendations to improve the CMS data collection process for laboratory reimbursements.
