Question:

Can we perform repeat organ and disease-oriented panel procedures on a single day of service?

Answer:

With the exception of codes 80047, 80048, and 80051, it is not appropriate to repeat the organ and disease-oriented panel procedures on a single date of service. Instead, a patient’s change in status should be monitored by repeat testing of only the analytes that are medically necessary due to abnormal results or expected shift due to patient condition or treatment.
