Why was the reporting mechanism updated for drugs of abuse?
Answer:
According to the panel that developed the CPT® for drug testing, the updated reporting mechanism was designed to address the (1) ability to be easily modified for future changes and technological advances, (2) identification of updated clinical settings, and (3) identification of “sources” for the specimen(s).
