Radiology Question for the Week of February 28, 2022

Question:

How was 75573 revised?

Answer:

For 2022 the term “venous” was removed and the term “vascular” was added which clarifies that the study includes vascular evaluation of vessels around the heart. This is specific for congenital heart disease. 75574 is still correct for when evaluating coronary arteries and bypass grafts. Left ventricular and right ventricular have been spelled out. The RVU value is the same.

75573 Computed tomography, heart, with contrast material, for evaluation of cardiac structure and morphology in the setting of congenital heart disease (including 3D image postprocessing, assessment of left ventricular [LV] cardiac function, right ventricular [RV] structure and function and evaluation of vascular structures, if performed)
