Radiology Question for the Week of January 9, 2023

Question:

What is the intent of the new 2023 code 0743T?

Answer:

Similar to codes 0554T–0557T, this code also describes the use of finite element analysis to noninvasively assess whole-bone strength. Code 0743T differs in that it also includes concurrent vertebral fracture assessment and the measurement of bone strength, BMD, and the classification of any vertebral fractures with overall fracture-risk assessment.
