Question:

Can we code multiple codes for a blood patch when injected in different levels?

Answer:

If multiple levels require a blood patch and these are separate and distinct procedures, it would be appropriate to code for each blood patch separately. The MUE is 2 on this code but the MAI is 3, meaning that more than 2 units may be submitted with additional supporting documentation.
