What is the code for a male mammogram?
Answer:
According to the American Medical Association (AMA), the descriptors for mammography codes 77065–77067 do not specify male or female. While diagnostic exams (77065 and 77066) are covered for both female and male patients, when medically necessary, screening code 77067 covers only females. If a screening exam is performed on a male patient, the exam will be denied.
