When is code 98975 reported, and what does it cover?
Procedure code 98975 is used for the “initial set-up and patient education” on the use of a remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) device, which involves teaching a patient how to use the device to monitor their health data, such as respiratory or musculoskeletal status, therapy adherence, or therapy response. Essentially, it covers the initial training when a patient first starts using a remote monitoring system.
