Question:
What are the Medicare rules for billing MSLT or MWT and PSGs?
Answer:
A multiple sleep latency test (MSLT) or maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT) and polysomnography (PSG) represent separate diagnostic tests that are performed at different times to access various physiological parameters of sleep. Typically, PSG is performed the night before the MSLT or MWT.
