Question:
Is there a CPT® code for oxygen?
Answer:
There is no CPT code for oxygen. Bill it with the revenue code 0271, designating it as a supply. It must be billed in “measurable” units that can be monitored, such as per liter, per hour, per quarter-hour, per minute. Daily and “per shift” oxygen charges are not appropriate.
