Are patient-initiated spirometric recording codes covered by Medicare?

Answer:

CPT codes 94014, 94015 and 94016 are generally considered not covered by Medicare since their clinical efficacy has not been established, even though 94014 and 94015 have been assigned APCs. Many states have coverage policies for patient-initiated spirometric recording. It is recommended that you check with the Medicare payer for coverage policies relevant to your facility.
