Respiratory Question for the Week of June 12, 2023

Question:

Can we use fractional time amounts when reporting additional time with code 94781?

Answer:

Note that the description for +94781 specifies “each additional full 30 minutes.” This means that neither fractional amounts nor rounding up are allowed when reporting this code in addition to +94781. Documentation must clearly demonstrate that an additional 30 minutes beyond the initial 60 minutes were spent with the infant being tested.
