Are there still coding and compliance risks posed with COVID-19 testing and protocol? Is there potential for audits in the future?
Answer:
There is a lot of potential for audits. The expectation (or suspicion) across the industry will be audits conducted by every entity involved in any type of payment related to COVID. Whether the money came from the CARES ACT funds, HRSA funds, or payers, audits for compliance with COVID guidelines are a definite yes.
