Cardiology Question for the Week of April 5, 2021

Question:

Should the date of service (DOS) of the FFR derived from a CTA be the same as the DOS of the coronary CTA?

Answer:

The DOS of the FFR codes should be the date that each portion was performed. If performed on different dates, each portion would be dated for the date it was done. For instance, if the demographic and biometric data are extracted and the images are located, deidentified, and transmitted on Monday, 2/1/2021, then the 0502T would be reported with a DOS of 2/1/2021. If they don’t get around to processing the data and images until 2/3/2021, then the DOS for 0503T would be 2/3/2021.
