Cardiology Question for the Week of November 15, 2021

Question:

In the instance when more than one site in the same vessel is treated with percutaneous transluminal coronary thrombectomy (92973), is it appropriate to report for each site treated?

Answer:

From a coding perspective, code 92973 should be reported one time per vessel, regardless of the number of sites treated in the same vessel.
