What is portography?

Answer:

Radiography of the portal vein after injection of contrast material to evaluate the status of the splenic or portal venous system, attempt to localize endocrine pancreatic tumors, or evaluate varices/bleeds. This may be performed as a part of a TIPS (insertion of transvenous intrahepatic portosystemic shunt[s]).
