Question:

Can we bill 80299 only once in 2024? Did the MUE change for code for this code?

Answer:

It is acceptable to repeat code 80299 as many times as needed with varying fees based on the costs of the methods for analysis of different specimen types or drug-specific reagent cost. Note, however, that code 80299 has an MUE value of 3 per January 1, 2024, Medicare Outpatient Hospital Services MUE release.
