Question:

For 2018, what codes should be used for drug-of-abuse testing?

Answer:

According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, laboratories must use CPT® codes 80305 through 80307 when billing for presumptive drugs of abuse testing and HCPCS level II codes G0480 through G0483 when billing for definitive drugs of abuse testing. Additional HCPCS codes for drugs of abuse testing are G0659, 0006U, and 0007U.
