Answer:
Between January 1 and June 30, 2017, you would report the following code:
| P9072 | Platelets, pheresis, pathogen reduced or rapid bacterial tested, each unit |
However, effective July 1, 2017 and after, the two new HCPCS codes below should be assigned:
| Q9987 | Pathogen(s) test for platelets |
| Q9988 | Platelets, pathogen reduced, each unit |
