Question:

What are the additional parameters regarding breast density notification that must be met during Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) inspections?

Answer:

As of September 10, 2024, facilities are now subject to all applicable MQSA requirements, including those in the 2023 MQSA Final Rule. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that all mammogram reports include an overall assessment of a patient’s breast density in addition to general findings. For more details, refer to Appendix E.
