Radiology Question for the Week of February 10, 2020

Question:

Do you have any guidance on reporting 0331T?

Answer:

The service described by 0331T is used for assessing patients with heart failure and low heart ejection fraction, for the myocardial sympathetic nervous system amount of stored norepinephrine. For reporting myocardial sympathetic innervation imaging planar for H/M ratio, use category III code 0331T. For myocardial sympathetic innervation imaging, planar plus single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging, see 0332T. For myocardial infarct avid imaging, do not use 0331T or 0332T. Instead, see codes 78466, 78468 or 78469.
