Pharmacy Question for the Week of November 23, 2020

In a follow-up to last week’s question do any exceptions exist for billing complex drugs for chemotherapy administration?

Some exceptions are newly created temporary codes (HCPCS C codes) that represent chemotherapy or highly complex drug or biological. This is not an all-inclusive list of drugs that may be reported with code range (96401–96417).

This question was answered in our Coding Essentials for Infusion & Injection Therapy Services. For more hot topics relating to infusion services, please visit our store or call us at 1.800.252.1578, ext. 2.
