Do you have any tips for reporting radiopharmaceuticals with code 78015?
Answer:
If using 123I for this study, note that HCPCS Level II code A9509 was added to report the radiopharmaceutical in increments of each millicurie administered. If a provider administers a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical under the hospital OPPS and plans to later perform a diagnostic scan, the provider should hold the hospital OPPS therapy claim until the diagnostic nuclear medicine scan is complete and ready to be billed.
