What code would be used to report beta-amyloid plaque imaging?

Answer:

To report beta-amyloid plaque imaging, the SNMMI recommends, and CMS confirmed in transmittals, one of the following two codes based on the protocol and equipment utilized, which applies to all settings and payers. Report 78811[Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging; limited area (e.g.,chest, head/neck) ] or 78814 [Positron emission tomography (PET) with concurrently acquired computed tomography (CT) for attenuation correction and anatomical localization imaging; limited area (e.g., chest, head/neck)].
